Why has dd suddenly 'lost the knack'?

Dd is 2.3yo. She's been potty trained since end of may and was doing great. She's even dry at night. :)

BUT over the weekend she has just wee-ed everywhere! :(

She was horribly constipated on Saturday but that's fixed now. She knows she wants to pee but doesn't get there in time when she would have previously. She's also been wee-ing loads - but this is probably because I've been making sure she stays hydrated because of the constipation and heat.

Is this just a phase or do you think the constipation related trauma has done something to her! Confused

Do you think she could have a water infection?

motherofvikings · 07/07/2013 21:15

Oh heck! Confused

What should I be looking for in a water infection?

I've had a quick google - it sounds like she'd seem a bit unwell if she had a urine infection. She's been fine - apart from the weeing and heat induced grumps. Hmm

I don't think that's it. Confused

Any change? If she's still having the trouble I'd get her checked over just in case Smile

Today she had no accidents at all! Shock

Admittedly we went back to basics a bit and everyone was on high alert and there were lots of haribo bribes but its worked! :)

Fwiw I am now a little paranoid about urine infections so will be off down to the gp at the first sign of illness

Hello from the pt support thread that we were on a while back!
DD has also had a relapse recently, as did DS a couple of months after he was sorted.
I think it is mostly a case of the novelty wearing off tbh! DD has also started leaving it a bit late, so her pants are a little damp before she tells me, which is a bit of a pain, but I suppose she is testing to see how long she can leave it!
Let's hope they are both past this little blip again soon!

Tinwe · 08/07/2013 21:12

Sorry Mother! Didn't mean to give you a worry Confused

motherofvikings · 08/07/2013 22:10

Tinwe - no I'm glad you pointed it out. I think because I've never had a uti I'd sort if forgotten them as a possibility! Blush Confused

I'm reassured that your dd has relapsed too! :)
TMI ALERT- It was a grim couple of days with the constipation, manual extraction (!), massive poo accident (while out to lunch Shock Blush Confused Blush. Then the wee wee puddles everywhere!

So pleased I haven't had to wash dirty knickers today!

Hi Mother and Whispers,
We also have just had a regression but it tied in with a 2 week camping holiday and now we are back home wees seem to be sorting themselves out again. Poos are another matter! Since week 2 we have had absolutely no success with poos anywhere except pants.

On the plus side, regressions of wee seem to be passing for all us! Must be a common factor somewhere!

motherofvikings · 16/07/2013 07:51

Hi frogs! :)

Dd is doing better now. She's been caught slightly short by a few poos but not too horrific. Wees are mostly ok ish - but not as good as they were. Hmm

I think dd got a bit too relaxed and started to forget what to do IYSWIM. The back to basics approach has helped though. :)

Hi frogs Smile

DD has remembered again too! Just get the odd one now, when she has genuinely forgotten. Poos are fine, thankfully, although she's still a little funny about admitting she needs one... She will ask more forcefully for a wee and seem quite desperate and then when she is on the toilet, she'll say 'oh! Poo!' and do it, as if she had no idea she needed one Confused

TheScreamingfrog · 16/07/2013 18:05

Must just have been one of things! I have been takin heart from the other threads regarding poo that we are not alone! Will just grit my teeth and plough on!
