Dd 2.3 is more or less ready I think. So we're going to start pt this week. It hadn't crossed my mind to do stickers/rewards etc until I read some of the threads here.

I was just going to explain what was happening and act like it was the new normal. I suppose I see the stickers etc as making too much of a fuss.

What would you recommend? If it makes dd feel good about herself then no harm. I'm just worried if all the fuss might seem like pressure and she could be reluctant to do it.

We didn't use rewards/stickers, didn't seem necessary as wearing knickers was something dd wanted to do so a motivation in itself. I think you know your child and what will work for them, some kids love sticker charts etc and need some extra motivation. We are bribing with chocolate for poos on the potty/toilet though, dd has huge and longstanding poo issues and does really need a bit of extra incentive not to hide and poo in her knickers.

I didn't use stickers at all.

I've never used a reward chart (I am too disorganised) but a bribe of a few chocolate buttons did seem to help her with weeing. We are on entire packets for pooing though! (she also has longstanding poo issues)

We never needed stickers for wee, but always gave a sticker for a poo successfully got into the potty or loo. You don't need a chart though - just as happy-making to put the sticker on their clothes.
