Help!! At wits end! 4 months on and no progress!!

We started potty training DD2 in February and initially things seem to go well. She got wees pretty quickly but poos were a bit hit and miss. We got to the point where we thought wees were nailed and we were working on poos giving little presents and stickers for every one that went in the right place. We even had the odd day with no accidents at all. Then, a few weeks ago she went completely back to square one with endless accidents during the day. We were very close to putting her back in nappies but once we started threatening that she got a bit better and we thought we were making progress again. We're very clear on rewards with a sticker and smartie for every poo/wee done in the right place and a small book for every day she doesn't have an accident (this has happened about 3/4 times in 4 months) and an exciting toy if she goes a week (we've never got even close!)
Anyway, the last 5 days she has gone back to having constant accidents again. Nothing goes in the right place! She doesn't care when she does it and barely notices it. So basically, what to do next?? Do we carry on and just accept the constant accidents or do we give up for a bit and go back to pull ups?? I don't really want to stop as it's been 4 months but I am so fed up of clearing up wee and poo!!
Sorry for the ramble but any advice gratefully appreciated!!
Xxxx

Perhaps actually putting DD2 back into nappies, showing you mean it will be the impetus she needs. You haven't said how old she is.

We are trying and failing? to train DD 2 as well and the days are mixed. Today DH was on childcare and I got home to a wee on my bathroom floor, closely followed by one on the bath mat!

Sorry, she's 2 and 10 months.
I feel your pain! Sounds very similar to most of my days! It's so frustrating. I am tempted to put her back in nappies although I'm not sure she'd care! ( which probably tells me I should do it!)

She is still very young. If it is upsetting you and she really doesn't seem to get it, I'd give it a break for a while. Don't be swayed by what other people are doing. You've got to do what is right for you and your DD. You should also not beat yourself up about it.

Thanks for your responses. We persevered at the weekend but still not making much progress! She 's still having a minimum of 3 or 4 accidents a day which seems way too much after 4 m

Sorry posted too soon. I think it's too many accidents after such a long time. I think we're going to pause for a while and try again in the summer holidays.
It feels like we're giving up but we're not making any progress and it's just tiring the whole family out!

FWIW I gave up about 5 times Grin I just couldn't handle it and DS clearly didn't have a clue and it didn't bother him. With DD however it's been totally different, they really have got to want to do it. Hope all goes well in the summer Smile
