How many pairs of pants?

We are planning to potty train DD soon. I will be buying her pants and wrapping them up as a present as taking her shopping would result in her choosing one pack and refusing any others. We aren't great at getting washing done instantly, though obviously "accident" pants and clothes won't be hanging about. I have seen 16 pairs she would like 2 different packs of 5 and 2 different packs of 3. So realistically, but erring on the generous side, how many do we need?

We have about 15. Could do with a few more.

At least 20 at first, IME, or the washing machine's on constantly.

Thank you. I was concerned that I would be going overboard, but it appears not. I'll aim for 20.
