big toilet?

So we have been successful with the potty (ds 3). sometimes he goes on his own, other times he needs reminding as he is very good at holding on (all day sometimes). How do we get him on the big toilet? So far he just looks at us like 'you have got to be joking". Will it just happen? any suggestions welcome.

we have a special toilet seat that has the small seat in the lid of the big seat so us always there and is very secure. ds1 was fine on it but ds2 was uncertain so I am afraid I bribed him with chocolate Blush not the best I am sure but it worked! ds3 on the other hand has seen ds1 and ds2 use the toilet and it is hard to get him off! does he watch you go? ds2 was much happier weeing standing up - ds1 taught him that but people often say for dh to teach them.
