Teaching my 5 year old DS how to wipe himself?

That's it basically! He's been potty trained for years but cannot manage to wipe his own bottom! Any tips?

I didn't know it'd be so hard...thought it was pretty self-explanatory. Confused But he will be going to full time school next year and I'd like him to have it down, plus I'm having a baby in May and would prefer to only be wiping one bum! :o

Advice??

Buy some moist toilet wipes, not the branded ones, get them from Home Bargains or Poundstretcher or similar. Try and make it something positive, eg, only babies get wiped, the new baby will have to have mummy wipe them, big boys DIY, so that he wants to do it. Accept that the first few attempts will not be that great. You might let him have a go for the first few times, then you finish off. Accept that you might need to change undies a bit more often for a while!

Thank you! We have the moist wipes but they are rather small, I will look for bigger ones. :)

Just use two, unfolded and slightly overlapped, or a baby wipe but remember they don't flush.
