getting really frustrated with half wet pants

My ds keeps starting his wee in his pants and not telling me. He used to do this but would tell me and then finish his wee on the potty. Now he doesn't tell me and flat out denies it. He carries on playing.

Anyone got a solution?

Go back to nappies for a few days.
Calm down.
Let him chose his pants when you are trying again.
Get a seat for the toilet and give up with the potty.
Calm down.

I am calm! Just a little frustrated!
He already choses his pants and we do have a loo seat. Thanks though.

Any other ideas?

Not sure if I have ideas but just wanted to reassure you I think this happens with boys a lot. When DSS was 4, he was potty trained and good at it, but when he was totally immersed in something he'd do exactly the same as your DS. I remember one day we were at a friend's house and because he was still within a few months of being potty trained, we'd brought lots of spare pants with us, just in case. Anyway, after about 4 such accidents in a short space of time, with 2 pairs left, I did get a bit panicky (oops!) and accidentally said out loud what I'd been thinking - this is your last pair of pants and if these get wet, we're going to have to stop playing and go home. For the next few hours he managed to get to the loo with time to spare. I do think he was either being a bit lazy or just not concentrating. He also reacts really well to special Star Wars pants - we don't want to pee on Darth Vader!!

Prob not clear in my last post - I treated those pants as the last pair as I'd need to save a pair for him to go home in.

DS has only just started to get the hang of this and we found the "dry like me" pantyliners helped avoiding a full change but still allowed DS to realise he needed the potty and fast.

If he's aware you're cheesed off, he might be doing it all the more.we had this with poos at bed time- sometimes 5 poos each in a new pair of pull ups. joy!
I was trying not to show it, but I was getting mighty pissed off.
Nursery suggested being very nonchalant to showing no emotion at all - eg 'no probs just fetch me a new pair of pants and we'll get you changed'
DS was very perplexed he wasn't getting a rise out of us, and it began to settle down.... Also have so many pants, it really doesn't matter, I had about 20-30 pairs at one point and it was much easier to tackle washing wise!

Thanks for the advice. I don't really mind too much as there are no puddles on the floor, its just we still go through loads if pants a day which feels like he is not trained at all!
