Ds is 2.1 and in the last month has become a lot more verbal than he used to be.

He has started telling me when he has done a poo in his nappy and in the case of wees, either telling me after he has done one or as he is doing one (I can't tell at the moment).

Am I right in thinking that I need to wait until he is telling me before he needs the toilet? Gps are pushing me to put him on a potty but I don't want to rush him if he isn't ready.

Why not get a potty with him and just have it there. Slowly introduce it and see if he takes to it. He may ignore it, he may jump on it at the earliest oppourtunity! There's no pressure but you are subtly introducing the idea to him.
