Potty Training before #2 arrives?

Hello ladies

My DS is 2 and 2 months and i am due to give birth in approximately 5 weeks time. Would you bother trying to potty train or just wait until DS is a bit older? He tells me if he hasdone a poo and or wee but refuses to sit on the potty. He'll sometimes sit on the toilet before bathtime but only for about 15 seconds before he demands to come off. He often then proceeds to wee all over the floor.

Part of me wants to give it a go bt then im really not sure if he's ready. I don't want to make it more difficult in the long run.

My DD is 21 months. Personally, I'm gonna wait til next summer. I know she's not ready, and I don't want things to go wrong when DC3 comes. Mine's due in about 6 weeks.

I think i might hold off too. You hear so many tales of kids being potty trained at 2, you get it into your head that you aren't doing something right if yours isnt. I might start at the beginning of next year when he's 2 and a half and isn't in nursery so much.

oh god, wait - don't inflict potty training on yourself now! we waited until DD was 5 weeks old and DS 2.9, and he got it in a week. tried when he was 2.3 and it was a bit pointless.

do as little as you can for now anyway!
