How long should I let DS go without pooing before I worry?

We've been fully potty training DS (2.5) for about a month now. He's absolutely fine with wees - will wee on demand and will take himself to the potty by himself when needed. At first he was doing OK with poos, but now he seems to be holding poo in. He did a big fairly solid poo on Sunday evening just before bed, but nothing since. We're on holidays at the moment in the south of France and it's baking hot and he got a bit of heat exhaustion on Sunday so didn't eat much on either Sunday orMonday, so I wasn't concerned about the lack of poo really, but I'm now starting to get worried.

How long should I let him go before I do something about it? I should add that he's eating quite a lot of French bread I guess but is drinking lots of water. He won't touch fruit juice, so I can't go down that route....

Don't know amy sorry. Is it just the potty he won't poo on or the toilet too? Have you tried putting a nappy on but telling him he has to sit on the potty to (with the nappy on) to poo?

All resolved. We had a poo in the potty last night thankfully!

do something about this now. if you're not getting one at least every other day, deal with the issue quickly before it becomes a whole world of backed-up poo pain. This is the voice of bitter experience here. You need to make the necessary dietary changes to make sure that you're helping as much as possible - can't emphasise enough that if this continues, it just becomes much worse. Get the raisins and brown bread / rice / alpen out...
