DD2 is only 26 months but since 16 months has been telling us she has done a wee/poo in her nappy.

At 24 months has started asking to go on the toilet all the time, several times a day but in 2 months of non stop visits instigated by her has never done anything on the toilet, she has always done it by the time she says she needs to go in her pull ups.

I have even put her on the toilet(doesn't like potty). She has asked to get off and 1 min later has been in her pullups so even when she's full she will hold it for her pull ups yet doesn't like being wet as will straight away ask to go to the toilet and be changed.

I appreciate she is incredibly young and although would love her potty trained am not trying to push her but it's very wearing and expensive changing her constantly as she is not happy wet but not getting what she needs to do to avoid being wet.

A couple of friends have suggested going straight to training pants or pants but I really don't think she would get it. incidentally her language is very advanced for her age but her physical development was a bit delayed (didn't roll or crawl till 15 months). No idea if that has any bearing.

Anyone any experience of this?

Should also have said that when she couldn't roll, crawl or reach out for things, she was incredibly unhappy about it but just couldn't do it so it feels like a repeat of that - ie knows what she wants to do but just can't do it
