DS started training on Monday in crèche. He's 2yrs 8 mths. From day 1 he immediately knew when to ask to go to the toilet and only had one accident on day one at home. Day 2 he did great in crèche again, did one wee, one poo and one accident at home. Day 3 pretty much the same. He even made me change his nappy which I had put on for bed 5 mins after I put it on coz he had done a wee.
Yesterday was day 4 and he had 3 runny poos, all accidents. He had to be practically hosed down in the bath and was apparently quite upset. When we got home I could see he needed a wee and through bribes and threats got him to sit on the potty, the toilet and sit on the potty beside me while I did a wee in the loo. Despite all this, he didn't wee but did it about 2 minutes later in his pants. He's home with me today and same story, I can see he needs to wee but he holds it even when I get him in the potty for 5 mins and wets himself shortly after. I think he's holding it until he just can't anymore. Each time he has an accident he says he won't have any more and next wee will be in the toilet.
We were in the kitchen and just moved to watch a DVD and he went ballistic when I brought the potty with us, grabbed it and said "don't bring it in here!" and put it back in the kitchen.
I've tried stickers, chocolate and promises of a trip to a friends but no idea what the sudden problem is after a good start. Any advice?!!!
