Help me out o wise ones.
Ds is 2 yrs, 4 months. Has been very keen on pants recently as some of his nursery mates are starting to be trained now. He is at nursery monday to thursday. So we bit the bullet at the weekend, bought some spiderman pants and had a go. Lots of accidents everywhere but we did manage a resonance few wees on the potty plus a poo on day 2. Ds is very keen on the pants and happy to sit on the potty.

But at nursery he hasn't managed any wees (poos have happened in nappy at naptime). Although last 2 days at home in morning and evening wees on the potty no problem and without being asked.

Would you carry on? I'm just concerned that he doesn't have the physical capability to hold a wee in yet. Would it destroy all future attempts if he went back in nappies for a bit? What is holding me back from quitting is the fact he is not stressed by it all and quite happy to go in the potty. Any middle ground?

Phew what an epic tale!

What is the nursery's strategy for helping him to do his wees on the potty?

Just putting him on every 15 mins or so, reminding him its there. I think today was a little better - all accidents but they happened in the area where the potty is and while he was pulling his trousers down. So he's got the idea I think and can tell a wee is coming, he just hasn't quite got the control to hold it. Do you think he can learn that or is he just simply lacking the muscles to control it?

Mine is the same age and I'm just going for it! He makes the potty 50% of the time so I'm going to persevere as I don't want to 'lose the moment'.... Haven't read up on it or anything so who knows if what I am doing it right though!!

Also bought potty pete the pirate off amazon!

Oh yes we have pirate Pete too! Ds even has a pirate outfit so he can pretend to be pirate Pete!

Personally I would wait a few weeks then try again. I don't see the point in rushing them and making it harder for everyone

Ah! So cute!! I think it sounds like he's just learning so will get their in his time but I'm only on dc1 so it's all new to me!!
