Potty Training 16month DS

Have set aside the weekend to do naked weekend and try and get DS to use the potty. Started yesterday. He did about 15 wees on the floor but would sit on the potty when entertained. He managed 4 wees on there but he got up before he'd finished so inevitably finished on the floor!
Today, he did his first wee on the potty (after my having distracted him until he did one), then 2 more on the floor!
Do you think I'm expecting too much of him? Anyone else had experience of potty training DS at this age? Got any tips?
Thanks

16 months is very young. He's unlikely to be fully aware of when he needs to use the potty and certainly won't have any control so won't be able to hang on while you get him to the potty.

He is very young, DS didn't show signs until 2.5.

I really think thats too soon... Ive not long started with my DS who will be 3 in Sept. We've had one mishap in just over 2 weeks...

Thank you. Will stick a nappy back on him then and take him out in the sunshine now that it's finally made an appearance!
