A Tinkle!

After posting a couple of days ago, I decided to prepare Dd (2y11mo) for toilet training. We order books, charts & stickers together. Princess Pollys book on iPad was read with great enthusiasm tonight and after dinner I asked of she wanted to sit on the toilet.

She went to the bathroom herself, took of trousers&nappy& sat on toilet. Nothing happeneded.

Kept dry for an hour or so and as bedtime approached I asked if she wanted to go again. And she did a small wee! I heard a 'tinkle' and her little bum was definitely wet.

I nearly fainted...

But what do I do tomorrow? She is due nursery for a couple of hours in the afternoon, I have a meeting & we are going on a short trip over the weekend!

I don't want to make a half hearted attempt or confuse her. I know it should be cold turkey.

Tempted to see what she says in the morning and try her with pants...

Any ideas appreciated!!

Hi there, just gone through this with my older DS (3y3mo).

I'd give your nursery a call in the morning and see what they want you to do. DS's asked me to send him in pull ups and provide them with some until they were happy that he had got the idea.

There are many who will say that you should never go back, however, we used pull ups for outings for a while until we were more confident that he'd got the idea and was going to do it. They generally stayed dry as it happens.

Our problem was getting him to focus on it, so having had no success with the stickers, we had to resort to chocolate buttons. Not sure when we're going to wean him off them, but I'm sure we'll get there eventually.

Good luck!

Good idea to speak to nursery. I have asked for advice Prius.y and I think sy will go with it if we have started the process.

My dd is immune to bribery with sweets! Savoury...maybe...! The iPad: always!!
