How best to tackle potty training?

I want to start attempting to potty train my DD this coming week. She has to have two weeks off Nursery so I think it's will be easier, my mum and MIL are helping on the days I'm at work. Aiming to start thurs so will have 4 days before I am in work.

How is best to start? We have a potty, step and training sea and LOTS of pants. Two loos so one downstairs and one upstairs. Any tips?

what age is she? Is she showing any signs of readiness/awareness of peeing and pooing?

She is 2.6 we had asked her nursery a few months ago and they said she wasn't ready and to leave it a wee while. We then planned to do it when we had a week off after our holiday but DD got chickepnox so couldnt do it then.

She is now telling us when she is doing a wee or poo, not all the time but definitely beginning to notice so I think it might be a good time.
