DS is 26 months and not potty trained. We have a potty and he sit on it before bathtime and after every nappy change (at home and nursery). Most day, I have to fight for him to put a nappy on (normal or pull-up) and keep it on.
So this afternoon, to avoid yet another fight, he has worn a big boy pants and trousers. Unfortunately, he wet himself within 40mn despites me nagging asking if he needed a wee. He will also from time to time tell me when he's done a poo.

Do you think he's ready for training? I don't mind training now instead than the summer and can take a week off work to facilitate it.

He might be, but is still fairly young, he might not get it in a week and you might need to spend another week trying again in the summer. Forecast next week isn't great anyway. I would keep going with what you're doing and wait until he is a few months older, but he might be ready.

It really depends how flexible your work is and if you can get more time off in the summer if it doesn't work. It also depends on how supportive the nursery is. He might, but probably won't be completely dry in a week at his age. Battles with nappies though are miserable.
