Have been trying to get DD to sit on the potty for weeks now with no luck, tried reading stories, all the teddies have sat on it etc Eventually she would with clothes on, but progressing to sitting on it without has been tough!

Today I put a warm towel over the potty and she not only sat on it but did 5 wees this afternoon on it (1 on the floor so not bad ratio!) on her first attempt without a nappy. But obviously I have gone through a few towels (luckily had some terry squares that I could use so will be able to wash and dry easily!) But really what is the long term solution?! She won't sit on the loo either so can't skip potty at the moment.... Any thoughts would be gratefully received!!

In the 'old days' the potty was put in front of the fire to warm a bit before the baby was sat on it. You could put it near a radiator.

You could cut up an old fleece blanket to drape around the potty rim, washes and dries quicker than terry.

Yes, both my (now teen) dc used to need their potty warmed when they were tiny! I used to run it under hot water and that seemed to do the trick.

Oh I'm glad we're not alone! Thanks for the tips. Sadly it's a potty chair so not easy to run under warm water but I'll try keeping it next to the radiator and fleece is a great idea. Think I'll have to get creative with an old blanket (which will be a challenge I'm sure!) Thanks for the advice.
