REFUSING TO POO in the LOO or POTTY!

This is frustrating. My little one is refusing to poo..
He has been holding off doing a poo for 2 days. He wears pants at nursery and at home and he happily goes for wees. Poo's are a big no no! He's been potty trained for 8 weeks and has only done about 4 poos into the loo or potty.

We just got back from nursery and he was having a car treat en route home. We got home and he was determined to finish of his pomme bears. I let him. Then there was suddenly a change of plan. He said, "I'm tired. I'm going to bed"
I was pleasantly surprised. I took him up and popped on his pullups and all along he kept saying, " I'm a good boy" etc etc.... Into bed he went and I left the room.Brew ??? Biscuit
Ordinarily, he holds his poos until after his nap BUT today he has done a poo
in his pullup. Shock He's casually come downstairs (1st time he's come out of his room alone) to tell me. I was shocked. He has obviousley fooled me into thinking he wanted a nap knowing full well I would put a pullup on him. Crafty so and so! Hmm

He's nearly 3....

Where do we go from here?

Do we stop the pullups and let him go to bed with pants on only?

Any advice

Go with the flow. If you start witholding nappies he will get distressed and into a cycle of not pooing/anxiety/constipation. I've been there with my dd a few years ago and it went on for months. Only when I backed off (after excellent advice here) did it resolve itself. Ds2 had similar anxieties about pooing so I just went along with it and gave him a nappy when he asked for one. Then he decided himself to start using the toilet for poos and never looked back. It's very normal for little ones to get the weeing thing before the pooing thing. Good luck.
