Day one of potty training.

DS refusing to sit on potty or toilet and 3 wees in pants and 1 poo - he tells me straightaway afterwards

I know he's ready - but how long do I leave it if he's not getting the hang of it.

Some children are worried about sitting on the potty or toilet in the beginning.
Have you tried leaving him with no pants on for a few days. Then he will get the potty more quickly and won't have any nappy/pants confusion.

My DS couldn't do his first wee on the potty as he was scared/nervous/didn't know how to.
In the end, I waited until he actually started weeing and put him on the potty half way through. He then saw that he could do it and was delighted with himself. It broke the back of the problem and he was able to go from then on.
I wonder if that might help your DS too?

Well, still no wees or poos in potty or loo. But he didn't go for a wee from 9:30 til 4pm despite having quite a bit to drink.

He has sat on potty a few times (to get his shoes on before going out etc) but says he doesn't need a wee. All wees have been at home in pants.

Confused
