Reward chart - help

I'm going to start potty training my 2.5yr old dd on Monday. She seems ready so I'm going for a 'straight in to knickers, no pull ups' approach. As I'm going to be encouraging her to sit on the potty far more times than she actually wees/poos in the early days, I was planning on doing a reward chart where, if she gets four stars, she gets a choc (star for producing something when I sit her on the potty).

Is that realistic? Or will it take her too long to get four stars in the early days, so she might lose interest in it?

thanks

Depends on your DD. I just gave DD1 a sticker for every wee on the potty (she was 2.5ish) & she was more than happy with that! Suggest you hold back on the choc bribary incase you need an "extra incentive" later on!

You may not need it. Is your dd already using a potty from time to time?
I'd advise you get her used to the potty first with a few accidental area on it before u start going with knickers all day. Once she knows what to do, she should be happy to use it with positive praise from u being enough encouragement.

Thanks for your replies.
Hattie, yes, she is seems to have the idea of the potty, she usually is keen to sit on it a few times a day , so fingers crossed she'll be ready to move on now.

I used a sticker chart for the first few days just for sitting on the potty - really it got DS excited about the whole thing. Then we moved on to stickers just for when he produced something in the potty.
