I started potty training and it has been going well. At home my little one happily tells me when she has to go and goes when I make her sit on potty and read a story.

But I have been too afraid to go out, so I put her in pull ups. Then at home she asked for no nappy, pants... but the only pants I had were towelling training ones.

In pull ups she goes, in training pants she goes, so I thought go to normal pants...but same thing. She had accidents all day. As soon as I let her go naked, no accidents!
What do I do?

This is quite common.
Many children are used to pooing and weeing in nappies and they get confused by the feeling of pants or pull ups.
Don't worry, it will pass as she gets used to it.

How long has she been training for?
If possible you should try to give her a few more days with no pants on. Then try with pants again.
My DD never had this problem, but my DS did. I left him without pants for a few more days and he soon got the hang of it.

ok I will try the no pants again today. it is confusing her I think, because she still wants the training pants...yesterday she wanted pull ups.

then other days she freaks out if I come near her with pull-ups or pants of any kind. hopefully this is just a strange adjustment period.

Yes, don't worry too much.
It's all new and strange for her.
She has spent her entire existence wearing nappies and not having to worry about when or where she goes to the loo.
Now it's all such a big deal. It must be confusing.
She also sees that you wear pants, so she wants to too.
Follow her lead and your instinct. It will work out eventually.
