Should I train my 19 month old soon?

I trained my DD1 at 2.6 months and she took to it immediately. She showed most of the signs of being ready but she never told me when she needed to go.

DD2 is 19 months and has started to ask for a nappy change and to tell me when she needs to poo and goes into the toilet and tries to get on it.

She did this today so I put her on the toilet on a trainer seat but she's a bit wobbly up there and her feet don't reach the step so I ran to get the potty. By the time I got back she'd stood up and pood on the floor. Put her on the potty but she scared herself with a big fart so stood up and did a wee and a poo on the floor.

I wasn't planning to train her any time soon. It's only a year since I did her sister and i've nevver seen the point of doing it early.

BUt will it set her back if I just ignore this? Should I put her on the toilet when she asks or try to discourage her?

There's is no harm in encouraging her. She can sit on the potty for fun to start with even in her nappy

I was thinking the same about my dd. I trained ds in he summer at 2.10, dd is 23 months and announced on Wednesday ' big girl pants now' she has been in pants since Wednesday and we had a day out yesterday ith no accidents, and she has just run in and sat on the potty as I type.
Go for it. If she isn't quite ready then stop and start later

Ah ok, thank you both.

I might put her in pullups so it's easy to pop her on the toilet. She seems to want to use the toilet rather than potty, which is fine. But I can't really leave her to it as the basin is very close and she's wobbly up there and would more than likely bang her head trying to get down.
