DS is 2.11 and we thought we had potty training sussed at the beginning of December, he was taking himself to the potty and was dry after a week. He got poos sorted recently and we have had no poo accidents, also is dry at night. BUT for the past couple of weeks he has started to deny needing the loo, even if he quite obviously does - fidgeting, holding himself... then I either take him to the toilet (with him protesting that he doesn't need) where he will pee, or he will wee his pants. Not every single time, but it is happening a lot.

I've tried to not react, but I admit that I have failed at that quite a few times and given him in trouble. have tried 'next time do it in the potty or toilet' and have half heartedly tried a reward chart. What is the best thing to do? Does anyone have any experience of the denying needing the toilet when they clearly do??!!

Thanks!

DS has been potty trained over Xmas and was doing really well until this last week. He only had accidents when out and we couldn't get things sorted quickly enough.
But he's been denying he needs a wee this last week too and as a result has been having a fair few accidents.
I've been making it clear that he needs to tell us but without telling him off. He needs to understand it's not ok to wet himself. Try the reward chart full on too. We did but it's eased off recently so could be the cause.
I'm hoping he'll grow out of it again but only time will tell. Just going to be persistent.
