My dd1 2.5 has been potty trained for about 3 months (great at wees) but she is still rubbish at pooing in he potty and normally tells me after she has done it in her pants. Is there anything I can do to help resolve this? I have tried rewards but that doesn't seem to work. It is starting to drive me potty lol...

I tried everything, my ds just wouldn't poo on the loo or potty, I think we got through 60 pairs of asda pants (no way was I going to wash out all those poos). it is seriously boring, but one day she will just get the hang of it, and you just must stay calm or else it becomes a battle of wills. The least fuss you make about it the better. Just say oh dear, never mind, next time you can do it on the loo. My ds was totally freaked out when he pooed in the potty! So try sitting her on the loo seat, we've got one with a small seat in the lid, (from argos), that helped. Rewards of a smartie each time helped too. Good luck and stay calm!

I don't know but DS is the same. He will only poo in pants or a nappy. In fact he asks for a nappy to poo in and then doesn't poo for hours!

We have tried getting him to sit on the potty while wearing pants/nappy to poo, but that doesn't seem to work too well. The best thing (although messy) seems to be as soon as you notice him doing it, is to cheerfully pick him up and plonk him on the potty (works best if they are naked) so that at least some of it goes in there. DS seems to find this distressing but no more so than pooing anyway, so I just give him a big cuddle while he's doing it and try to reassure him.
