DS is 2.5. For quite a few months he has happily sat on the potty at bath time and done a wee, and often asked me to change his nappy after a poo. But in the last few weeks he seems to have got out of the habit of both, and often denies having done a poo when I'm quite sure he knows. I think things have just lost their novelty value and he can't be bothered. I thought we would have a go at potty training this week as I am due to have another baby in January and thought it would either have to be done now, or wait until he is nearly 3 a few months after the baby comes. But he told me quite definitely that he wanted to stay in nappies and not try the big boy pants I had got for him - even though they had Thomas on them... So I guess I have to wait, don't I?? I am hoping he changes his mind before too long and I haven't missed the window of keenness... I do think he has the control, at least for wees, it is just wanting to...

I went through the same thing with DD at Easter and she seemed so anxious about wanting to stay in nappies so I just left it. Baby came along, DD tried again over the summer and basically got the hang of it straight away. She has an accident every now and then (maybe once a fornight or less).
