Help! A few months a go i decided to try and potty train my 2 1/2 year old, he seemed ready and had already done the odd wee in his potty, we started off well but soon became apparent that he didn't have the bladder control quite yet so we had a chat and he asked to go back in nappies (i was given very conflicting advice about this but as i had a small baby i didn't want to upset him for no reason) then a week ago he asked to sit on the potty so we thought we would try again. after a few promising days he went completely against it and went into melt down at the mere mention of the potty, we were at my in laws at the time and he asked to go back into nappies much to my frustration i gave in (i didn't want to but felt defeated) i don't want to confuse him but at the same time i can't put myself or him through this again and it not work! i have tried stickers, chocolate buttons, special big boy pants and feel lost as to what i am doing wrong, please tell me i am not the only one that has failed attempts at this, do i force him to sit on the potty or wait a good few mnths before trying again? xxxxxx any help/advice will be gratefully appreciated xxxx

hi ive got a similar problem with my 3 year old daughter. all started off ok but today she's decided that she doesnt want to sit on the toilet anymore and has 'held' her wee all day. ive given in and put her a nappy on as she had been crying saying her tummy hurt. my husband say's ive done wrong and that it'll set us back now. its hard to know what to do for the best, my son was dry day and night in a week so im frustrated aswel! sorry ive been no help, hope everything works out. x x

Its a relief to know i am not the only one having problems! after 2 weeks of going nowhere i had a chat with Max and he told me that he wants to wear nappies! i am far too tired and drained from it to argue (i know that you are not meant to go back to nappies but quite a few of my friends had the same problems and said they went back to nappies for a good few months before trying again) We are off on holiday in January and i am due back to work at the end of March so am planning on trying again then. Hope you hav more luck! keep me posted xxxxxxx
