HELP, ds will point at the potty and toilet and say that it is for wee wee and poo, but absolutly refuses to let bum touch plastic, he refuses to sit down on either just says no . He is 2yrs 2 months and we have done all the usual stuff, the potty is left out so he can see it al the time and we have decorated it in sickers and talk about it so he knows what it is all about. Does any one else have this problem? He literally just locks his little body rigid so he cant sit.

a) he's very young. If he's not ready he won't get it so relax and leave it a while.

b) neither of my boys would sit on the potty, wrong shape for boy bums. They both learned on the toilet (I say learned but ds2 has only actually peed on the toilet once.. work in progress)

No advice but I have exactly the same problem with 2.5 yo DS. He knows that the toilet and potty are for wees and poos but flat out refuses to sit on either. Sigh.

Leave it for now and try again in a few weeks - repest until resolved. DD didn't like potties at all and went straight to the toilet.

repeat - not repest

Also, don't make a big issue out of it, just say, "Oh well, we'll try again another time" and move onto another subject.
