How many pants?

How many pairs of pants do you think we will need? Aiming to start with DS at the end of this month when we get back from holiday.

Think of a number and double it!

I used to have a few nice character pants and then shedloads of cheap plain ones from primark. Each child started the day in nice pants and then had to have plain ones after an accident. I started this after DS1 announced that he would have Milo pants now that he'd wet the other ones... He was doing it to get a different picture on them.

Haha, I am so clueless... I started off with two, then lost one, have now bought a pack of three and DS went through two pairs within about half an hour. So have now given up for the moment, I think he is ready, but realised it's probably going to take longer than 10 days and going to be easier not to be potty training when we're on holiday I think. And when we get back I'm going to get properly prepared :)

I bought three packs of 5 basics ones from sainsburys and had some nice picture ones. O did have too many though as dd did quite well very quickly.

BertieBotts · 14/08/2011 14:23

I was planning on getting another pack of 5 which would make 8 in total, or 9 if I can find the lost pair. But actually thinking about it, I have loads more pants than that and I only wear one pair a day. So maybe 2 more packs of 5?

What are your plans for the pooey ones? The really nasty pooey ones? With umpteen cheap-as-chips ones you can simply bin them.

To be fair, I didn't need to bin many in my three trips through potty training hell. However, I think DD had 20 pairs of plain ones from Primark.

HairyJo · 14/08/2011 17:35

Have just got ds2 fully potty trained I would say we started out with about 20 pairs of really cheap pants. I threw out most of the gross poo stained ones. I think we're down to ten pairs left now.

wompoopigeon · 14/08/2011 17:56

Twenty sounds about right. Fifteen at least. Depends a bit on your washing arrangements and approach to poos, as others have said.

EggyAllenPoe · 14/08/2011 18:03

is't it warm enough to go no-pants until he's got it? though i reckon 2*5 pairs is enough. no harm in getting more of course.

bessie26 · 16/08/2011 20:27

DD1 chose 1 pack of princess pants (7) and 1 pack of Peppa Pig ones (5).

We are now on day 2 & she will only wear the ones with Peppa Pig on. And we've managed to loose a pair already. So out of the 12 we bought we have 3 pairs which are acceptable

JeanBodel · 16/08/2011 20:28

At least 20. I would go for 30. Get very cheap pants, obviously.

I have learned the hard way this week. Ran out on day one as couldn't wash and dry fast enough.. Went out and bought more from tesco so total now = 15 and seems enough.
