Tired of pooey pants, suggestions please?

DD (2.6) is brilliant with wee and hardly has any accidents but will not poo on the potty/toilet. She talks a good turd and sits down, grunts/scrunches up her face but just never does anything. Honestly though the moment I put her in a pull-up and close her bedroom door she does one. She'll also do one sometimes at lunch in her pants.
I'm so sick of scraping poo off her pants and we're going through pull-ups so quickly. She's always talking about doing a poo in the toilet but is there anything I can do to help her?
I've tried keeping her up longer and sitting her on the potty but she just holds it til she's in bed.

Has she had any success on the potty at all with poos?

This is sooo frustrating. My DD was same. I think she got spooked somehow and then refused to poo on the potty at all. So we had lots of pooey pants too and I was in despair. In the end, I didn't react at all if she had an accident, just said 'next time try to go to the potty'. Eventually, she did manage to go on the potty and I gave her lots of praise and a little treat for being so clever.

That was a few weeks ago and hopefully we're getting there although she still has the occasional accident. Lots of my friends have had similar problems. Not sure I'm much help but just keep encouraging her, say nothing if she has an accident and she'll get there in the end :)

None whatsoever, she's never done a poo on the potty. I don't show my frustration, I just say 'shall we try on the potty next time?' I suppose maybe it's just time and a couple of hundred pull-ups...

My dgs is just starting [2.4] and so far we have had one poo on potty,one in toilet,one in pants........and two on the floor!!Still at least all wees have been in potty for last 2 days.When he did the poo on the toilet dd read him a story and he relaxed and did it.Its very early days though only started last weekend.

Im in the same boat, been potty training for nearly three months now and he just does not get the poo thing AT ALL. DS is 2.7 He was never keen on the potty at all and wanted to go straight on the toilet, he's a big lad so felt secure on the toilet. He got the weeing within a few days and we were amazed how quickly he picked that up. But we have never ever had a poo in a potty or otherwise (actually no, in that time we've had two and thats only because Ive caught him mid poo and plonked him on toilet)
It is soooooooooooo frustrating, I just don't understand why he doesn't get it. We have tried EVERY hint and tip, rewards, presents, praise, not making a fuss, poo goes to pooland, books, encouragement etc the list goes on. Every day we have an accident either on the floor or in his pants or he waits until his night time pull up is put on.

Im reluctant to give up and go back to nappies as he does wee on the toilet and tells us when he needs a wee, so I feel like it would be a confusing to him.
I will keep an eye on this thread, hopefully someone will have a magic solution!

kity that's exactly like DD. I caught her mid-poo yesterday but as soon as I'd plonked her on the potty she seized up and finished it off in her pull-ups as soon as I'd turned the light off - ARGH! I don't think anyone has any brilliant ideas by the looks of things though...

The only thing that makes me feel better at the moment Chulita, is knowing other people are going through the same thing! Which I know sounds awful but I just keep thinking Im doing something wrong? but with so many in the same boat it seems its a much more common problem than we think.
Im getting close to calling the health visitor, as lovely as she is though she never usually comes up with anything helpful that I haven't already read online, maybe she'll have some magic trick for this!! My mum just keeps saying "he'll get it eventually" I just hope she's right and he doesn't end up in pull ups until he's 16! :)
