Mostly dry at night - when do I ditch the nappy?

My DS, 3.5yrs, has only just potty trained, but having left it so late he trained in just five days. Since then he's also been dry, or almost dry, most nights as well. At what point do we risk ditching the nappy? I'm thinking I'll leave it a bit longer and then have a potty in the bedroom. Any advice? I can't find anything in the couple of books I have, which all focus on daytime issues.

I wouldprepare him first eg get him used to drinking less on the run up to bedetc. Is he dry during the day,how long does he sleep for at night, if the answer to these questions is favourable then give him a try.

Having posted yesterday he then peed last night and came in asking to be changed! Thanks for the advice anyway. I think we'll start talking about it and when he's had a good dry stretch we'll give it a try.
