Tissue in pants

Is this weird? I'm not sure if its odd or sensible.

My DD is 2.5 and been potty trained since new year. She's dry in the day and in the last fortnight, dry at night. She may occasionally start to wee on her way to the toilet, in that she wont make it in time but doesn't have actual accidents anymore. She wears a nappy at night but its dry in the morning now.

My MIL has looked after DD in the day maybe a handful of times, she went yesterday and DD announced on the way that "maybe nanny will put tissue in my pants again to make me sleep".

I asked DH about it and he agreed yes MIL stuffs the kids knickers with tissue in case they wee during a nap. My DD rarely naps and when she does, never wee's and so its not something I've even thought about. Is it odd?

MIL knows DD is dry and is sent with spare clothes but I didnt send nappies.

Maybe your dd is worried about weeing in her sleep at MIL so MIL told her not to worry, i will put tissue in your pants, then nothing will get wet.

I don't think so Molly as dd is ultra proud of being dry at night and wants to ditch the nappies as she's a big girl. My dh was well aware saying she used to do it to his niece. It seems her thing rather than the kids request. I don't mind giving mil a nappy if she doesn't want to risk it but I think I found it bit strange.
