Hi, Looking for as many past examples as possible for when you night time potty trained your children.
DD is 3 and a half and has been potty trained for a year. She has not now worn pull ups at night for 13 nights. This was decided by her, she has been asking for a while for 'no bed time pants please mummy'. Ok, so her pull ups were wet every morning but she knew they were a 'vessel' to wee in and would do so even if awake and lying in her bed with a potty right next to her. SO we do without, first night wet, so next night I put a pull up on her when she was asleep as I was just so sure this was not the right time developmentally for her. She woke up at 5 with a dry pull up, yanked it off, shouted to me no bed time pants and did a wee in her potty, back off to sleep. So night 2 dry, and then night 3 and 4, then we had 2 nights in a row when she was wet, but she woke up calling us and was upset, then another dry, another wet, 2 dry and this am she woke at 6 shouting that her bed was wet.
So, do I perservere? Or put her back in nappys at night? I would not care remotely if she was in pull ups longer, just I think its a shame that she does not want them anymore and I force her to wear them. But, when taking out of pull ups should a child be dry every night and thats it or can it take a few weeks to get the hang of it? I realise its a developmental and hormaone thing also, some nights she can hold on, others I wonder if she's just in too deep a sleep.
Any advice???
