Weeing everywhere but in his nappy

My DS is 22mths and I have the frustrating problem of him wetting himself more than once a day and at night even though he is wearing his nappy. What happens is that he puts his hand in his nappy and more often than not seems to end up with his doodle pointing out of the nappy - making the nappy redundant!

We are tentatively trying potty training, and has a couple of break-throughs. But generally he is not that keen, and I don't want to put too much pressure on him as he is not 2 yet.

Not sure what to do - am worried as we are going camping soon, and the amount of washing my little guy is creating at the moment is alarming!
The last couple of days I have been putting him in his underpants around the house - figure if he is going to wet anyway no point in using the nappy - but he won't sit on the potty. [cconfused]

Argh! Watching as my 20mo is also keen on making his willy (love the word doodle btw!) erm, say hello over his nappy [chmm]

He also takes great pride in stripping butt naked, stepping out of his nappy and shouting "tadaaaaa!"

Lol glad my DS is not the only one then. I am trying to teach him that his doodle [cwink] needs to point down!
