DS3, who is 3 next week, has started to show an interest in the toilet. I haven't pushed the issue because my other 2 boys were late training (due to stubborn nature) and we moved house recently.

On his request we have been running to the bathroom for the last 2 weeks and he has been reasonably successful in using the toilet but ONLY to stay clean.

He seems to have no awareness of being wet or interest to do anything about it.

My other 2 were dry before they were clean. Now I have one who is 'almost' clean before dry.

How do I help him progress this?

Historically before the use of disposable nappies almost all children were clean before they were dry as children gain bowel control before bladder control. No interest in being wet is due to disposable nappies being so good at keeping the child feeling dry! Suggest start to put a liner in the nappy such as folded kitchen roll which will stay wet after he has done a wee and see what happens!
