My dd has been at nursery since Jan. She occasionally (once every couple of days or maybe once a day) says "I need to do a wee wee" in a way that makes me think that she is just imitating kids at school. She has never, to my knowledge, done anything on the loo when put on it.

She is happy to sit on the loo and I've started to put her on every night just before bath (ie just after supper and a big drink), with bath running and I read her a story, but still NOTHING.

She occasionally says she is going to do a poo but NEVER comments on wees. If I think she's doing a wee and I ask, she usually denies it, even if I confirm by checking if nappy is warm.

What signs will she show that she is ready? did yr kids start announcing their wees and poos? Very annoying that she seems to understand the process but not actually doing anything. She is seeing other kids go to the loo several times a week!

How annoying for you! My dd is also 2.6 and is reluctant to potty train. She would not sit on the potty for more than a few seconds until last night (woohoo finally!) and she did a wee in the potty a couple of times.

She was telling me when she'd done a wee and a poo, but not until about 10 minutes later, so not much help really.

Have you tried just letting her run around without a nappy on? I think it takes away the feeling of security and being able to wee whenever and they start to think about it more and become more aware of it. (Although you do tend to end up with wee all over the floor to begin with) {wink]

think it's still a bit cold for not wearing anything on lower half but maybe I'll try for an hour one afternoon. Am 3 months pg so really want to get on with this so she is fully in the habit of wearing pants etc by the time baby comes.

I think that I'm not helping matters by being horribly impatient!

Going to order some potty related books from amazon now, hope it will be the encouragement she needs....
