No wee or poo for hours - normal?

Hi

Well, potty training really wasn't what I expected! Just started with DS (age 3) and was planning for being housebound and having frequent accidents but instead he literally goes for hours without weeing/pooing and today at nursery went the entire day.

I guess this means he definately has the bladder control, but is it normal? Is he anxious about going at nursery? The times he does go at home he is getting better at using the potty and seems quite happy to wee and poo on it, especially with the reward of stickers/chocolate.

Any tips or shared experiences much appreciated. Thanks.

I have always been amazed by my DD too.
She too goes for hours and hours on end without going to the loo.
I was concerned that she wasn't drinking enough and I found it quite stressful that she never seemed to go.
However, I am now realising that she simply has iron bladder control and simply needs to go less than other children.
She takes after her Dad!! :o

Thanks Ruth, v helpful. I'm relieved he doesn't need to go every 20 mins so it's good to know this isn't unusual!

At age 3 yrs most toddlers can stay dry for at least 2-3 hours so dont worry :-)
