Bladder of Steel?

2nd week of potty training this week with DD 2.5. She has done really well and has been dry 3 days out of 4, but today we had a really weird one - a wet nappy when she woke up, then despite me plying her with water and milk she managed to not wee until her lunchtime nap (nappy on) and then held on again til bathtime when she told me she had done her wee (about 6.30pm). I have forced so much liquid down her - is this normal?!!! any advice appreciated. it's wierd having a day with no activity on the potty at all!

Mine was and still is like this (now 5) - camel like. She can, and has always since potty trained, only wee'd 3 or 4 times a day. She doesn't drink a lot so maybe something to do with it. But she's absolutely fine.

It's actually quite good when you're out and about. We never needed a portable potty.

My son is like this too, and his cousin whilst his other cousin wees lots. All different

My son's the same - we make sure he drinks plenty but he can go absolutely hours. He's up at about 7 in the morning, but unless we're rushing out and I make him go, he'll quite often not have his first wee until about 11, then one wee in the afternoon, occasionally one at teatime and one at bedtime. It worried me at first but he's never had any problems with it. Wee that's particularly dark or smelly would suggest that she's not drinking enough, but if it's just wee-coloured and isn't causing discomfort, I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes they can hold it in much longer than you would imagine :) My DS (2.6) does this too, and did it even more in the first couple of weeks of potty training. As long as she's drinking enough & going eventually to the potty, I wouldn't worry.
