You could try a solution of biological laundry liquid in water and use to sponge the area. Alternately, a spray cleaner for carpets and upholstery. There is one called Simple Solution which is for cleaning up pet accidents, this also has the enzymes that biological liquids have. I have found it very effective. Pet stores will have it. Also good for cleaning vomit.

If your sofa fabric is dry clean only, you can get small bottles of dry cleaning fluid which can be dabbed on. Look in the laundry section of your supermarket.

Consider covering the seats of sofa and chairs with throws or fleece blankets during the training period, you can put towels and something waterproof like a cheap vinyl shower curtain underneath, or disposable bed wetting mats for protection.
