I feel really daft writing this, but I just need some good sound advice please.
DD will be 3 in April. I have started to sit her on the potty at night in return for a chocolate star and a sticker. This works wll and for the past week she has always done a wee.
I know she is ready for proper toilet training, but how do I do it when she goes to nursery? Extra clothes and hope for the best?
And next Monday she has a hospital appt - do I just put her in trainer pants and take change of clothes ? Reverting to nappies for trips out seems to be a no-no.
TIA

i think yes, if you are doing well, don't go back to nappies. too confusing.
nurseries are sooo used to this and will manage fine even with the odd accident.

re the hospital trip. i would allow lots of extra time, and offer the loo at every opportunity - before you go, on arrival at the main entrance, when you get to the particular clinic, and all again when leaving.

Agree with CBS, and also can you start her ont the toilet and not just the potty? Much easier for out and about.

Nurseries are used to coping with this and will be good at reminding her and not fussy about changing clothes. At nearly 3 she will probably learn very quickly!

For the hospital trip, I would take a couple of changes of clothes, offer the toilet very frequently, and perhaps a nappy in your bag in case it all goes pear-shaped when you're down to the last set of clothes! Pampers Care Mats are also useful for backup eg. in the car seat on a long journey.

Thanks!
Feeling a bit more confident now.
