Is DD ready for training?

Hello

DD is 21 months. I think she is showing all the signs of being ready to be trained and my preferred approach (initially at least) is to have focused go at training. Ie set aside a week and going for it. I was thinking she was young but I dont think she is really compared to some parents on here.

Here are the signs- what do you all think?

1)She will sometimes (not everytime) say poo before hand and after.
2)Now at bed time she pats her bum and asks for her nappy to be done.
3)She regularly asks me or DH to go for a wee, she comes along and then tears off the loo roll for us :)
4)She tends to save up wee then have a big go.
5)If she's been changed at 4.30pm at nursery she is often still dry when I change her for bed.

Thanks!!

I've asked a very similar question GingerbreadGiraffe and haven't had any responses either yet. Although my DD is younger (19 months) and isn't as advanced as you mention your DD is above.

I know that doesn't help but I will be watching your thread aswell as my own!

IME a child is ready if they can clearly state (or indicate) they need a wee or a poo before actually doing it

When they can manage themselves in the toilet fairly independently (ie pulling trousers up and down etc)

If you think she is ready put her in knickers, leave the potty out (obv tell her what it is forSmile) and see what happens

But IMO she is very young. If you wait until she is really ready it'll be done and dusted in a day or 2
