Hello everyone,

DS is potty training and has more or less got the idea about weeing on the potty ... but he is 1m tall, 17kg+ and 2.4 - and often when he sits on the potty the wee comes out the front ...

Am I missing something obvious here?

Get him to poke his willy down between his legs and then shut his legs. I have two DS's and they both have little firemans hoses down there!!! We've had many a soaked floor Sad

Oh and sit slightly forward, definitely not back Grin.

yu could try him on the toilet with a plastic seaty thing...

if i plonk DS on it right, it's spillage free...

If he's tall then you could teach him (or get DH/DP to show him) to use the loo standing up. DS went quite quickly from using the potty to just the toilet, he wanted to do it standing up like his dad.

OK thanks all.

I'm just starting this process with my son - almost same size/age. There is barely room for his penis to fit in

This is his potty. Are there other types that would make it easier?

We've got these www.mothercare.com/My-Jungle-Family-Potty-Chair/dp/B002HN7X58/sr=1-6/qid=1290281751/ref=sr_1_6/280-2741345-8804620?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=406797031&mcb=core

They're great for boys as there is less risk of splashing, there is MUCH more room for the willy and also you can take out the smaller inner potty for easy disposal of the contents.

Thanks for the tip - I may go and have a look.

However, there is an interesting review on the page 'i got this potty 4 months ago, and it is very insafe for a smaller size toddle as where the pot is out they can get stuck, as my toddler did, had to have firemen out, and he had to go to hospital, beacuse the injurys to his back and legs'

How unfortunate...

We got the potty chair yesterday and DS loves it (as it is pink Hmm) however he did put it over his head and we nearly had to cut him out, needless to say he hasn't done it again. But he does seem to be using it more, it is higher up so more comfortable and he can tuck his willy in.

MrsVincentPrice · 20/11/2010 20:00

I never managed to get DS to go on the potty - plastic seat on the loo was much easier.

That's really funny ArentFanny...
