DS is 3.3yrs.
Have been training him since summer.
He will do No 1s & 2s on the toilet, but only because I prompt him to go and know roughly when he will go.
He is often dry at night, but often does his morning wee in the pullup.
He never asks to go to the toilet. I have put him in pants to show that if he does not go to the toilet he gets wet etc, but it seems not to bother him too much.
I am thinking he does not go because he is being lazy and does not want to interrupt play.
How can I stop this and make him understand he needs to go to the toilet and then resume play?
Today I shouted at him so hard for hiding and doing a poo instead of telling me.
Previous to this incident, I have been taken toys from him when he wees in pullups. He then gets the toys back when he wees on the toilet.
He was late in all physical development milestones (crawling, walking), though was an early talker and is a pretty bright child.

I am punishing him on the basis that I think he knows when he needs to do a wee or poo.....but porhaps i am wrong, perhaps he doesn't know before, but only after or during.

Any suggestions welcome.
I just worry - he's an august baby and will start school in sept. I return to work soon, I won't have as much time to devote to this activity, and I do not want him to end up being incontionent at school, as stigmas last for years.

please please please don't punish him for accidents. some children just don't get it til later. i think if he is having accidents then you need to be taking him to the toilet more often. teachers are used to children having accidents. tehy wont attatch any stigma to it. and september is 9 months away, that's plenty of time. please don't panic about this or try and force him into this because it will take so much longer and create toilet issues. i know i have eben where you are. please don't punish him.

just noticed you say he is late in all physical develpoment. toilet training is a physiacl milestone. it stands to reason that he will also be later in this aswell.
