I expect this is a folorn hope but I'll ask anyway! It's becoming increasingly difficult/unpleasant to change DS (2.1) after a poo as not only is he surpassing the capacity of his nappies, he squirms like mad every time I try to lie him down to change him and he's getting stronger! I used to stand him in the bath and hose down but he's now terrified of the shower after walking under one at the swimming pool so that's a no go.

Got a potty a while ago just so that it would be a familiar object in the house. He often tells me when he's doing a wee or poo and I'm very encouraging. He walks around naked a fair amount of the time and if he wees on the floor he knows that he is doing it. He usually helps me get a cloth to clean it up as well and one day there was a cloth lying on the floor and he deliberately went over and weed on it so he made the connection (once) that there is a specific place for wees to go.

However any suggestion of the potty he runs away saying "No, don't like it!" and the same now with a toddler toilet seat which I bought (and he sat on once very proudly!) - so I guess he's just not ready yet. Which is fair enough :) and I don't want to push him. I would just be interested to know if there is anything I can do to encourage him to be ready any sooner. My HV reckons that within the next 2-3 months he should start to tell me before he does a wee or poo but I don't know that he will be ready for quite a bit longer than this.
