Hysterical toddler

I hope tihs makes sense, but its difficult to explain.
I have a 2.6 DD who is still in nappies. We have had a couple of incidents recently that have caused her to be upset and im not sure what to do. Firstly, she has pooed in the bath on a couple of occasions. This has really upset her and now she wont go anywhere near the bath. She has never done this before and its very odd.
Thats not really my big issue though. More concerning is that at least once a day, for an hour or so, she will tell me she has
pooed when she hasnt. She then gets hysterical when I wont change her nappy (I will the first time, but can`t every 10 minutes). Quite often its when she needs to poo (she smells!) but seems to be struggling. On several occasions she has been properly constipated and in a lot of pain when she finally goes.
DH took her to her swimmimng lesson this morning and she refused to get in thet pool as she thought she had had a poo
We have tried suggesting the potty or loo, but she refuses either
I have no idea what to do and am hoping someone else out there has experience of this !

I forgot to mention I have a 11 week old too. Am wondering if thats linked ?

Imho, it is possible. Training can be a power play. Have you tried playing up 'big girl' status? And the bells and whistles that go along with that?

She seems to be anxious about having another poo accident in an inappropriate place. Try explaining the different sensations of indicators when it is time for a b.m. She is old enough to understand. Soothe her fears.

My dd 2.6 has been exactly the same. She would say 'i need/ have had a poo' about 15 times and day but no actually do a poo.

I put it down to her being very sensitive to the waves of her muscles contracting and knowing that she would need a poo soon.

It was really getting us wound up and we would end up rushing her to the loo, just for her to get upset and for us to feel reall frustrated at going to the loo every ten minutes every day.

I have to say, fortunately, that after 2 1/2 months she has finally learnt how to do a poo without all the build up and will now happily sit herself down on the potty and do a poo all by herself.

I think part of the reason for the change is that we relaxed a bit and stopped rushing her to the loo whenever she said she needed a poo. I realised that she will only acually have a poo at home so whenever she said 'i need/ have done a poo' and we were out I would say 'okay dd' and do nothing more.

As others have said I would speak to the health visitor and perhaps look at her diet/ fluid intake.

This might be stating the obvious, but have you talked to her about passing wind, and taught her a word to use for it? My eldest used to need reminding of the difference.
