posted in chat too, but got no response so posting here.

went to mothercare, spent about 20 mins trying out potties and dd2 chose the one she liked. she is 2.

now we're potty training, she screams if we try and put her on it. lifts her bottom in the air so pointless really.

otherwise i think she'd be doing pretty well.

any ideas? our house is covered in wee!!!!

My dd hated the potty too! So we went straight to the toilet with a cushioned seat. Potties are not very comfy.

One of mine went straight to the toilet too, he was just keen to do that. And another one of mine always preferred the open grown-up seat to a kiddie one for some reason.

If that doesn't work, you could always try getting togther with a friend with a toddler and have them use the potty: sometimes possessiveness or just wanting to copy an older child can work. Or there's always plain old bribery: "Sit on the potty and get a chocolate star" worked wonders with my eldest!

DTs hated theirs with a passion, went straight to toilet with help of a step and comfy seat.
Don't worry too much about it, not all children like crouching on hard plastic Smile

Ditch the potty. If they don't like the toilet either then I'd say they are just not ready. My DD refused both, then 3 weeks later we tried again and she was fully reliable in 4 days. She was 2.4yrs
