we've been doing a very laid back version involving disposable and re-usable trainer pants.

(tried cold turkey aka just knickers and there was simply too many accidents and she just wasn't getting it...)

have had a few successes, wee-wise, especially first thing in the morning and just before bathtime in the evening. and occasionally after a long outing, if her pull ups are dry then she'll pee in the potty on arrival home and a drink in hand. usually i leave her to it, she'll yelp with delight if she does manage one, and i'll go help clean and all.

fine.

but today she's started doing a couple of weird things.

  1. left her (DD1) after breakfast whilst getting DD2 changed for our outing. hear her usual celebratory yelp and 'get some choc buttons' routine. i walk in all pleased, and discover she's gone and done it on the floor. i involve her in the cleaning up, tell her no choc buttons for weeing on floor. she seems to get it. we go out for outing. she stays dry in her pull ups, so i parked her on the potty again whilst sorting out my mail. again, another celebratory yelp, and i found her in a puddle in the kitchen! stamping in it. this time she refused to help clean it.

  2. afternoon: we've had wees in the potty. (now under strict supervision in case she decides to wonder off). but after each medium-small wee there was a huge wee 5 minutes after in her pull ups. is she stopping her wee flow prematurely?!!

is she even ready - should i back right off and go back to nappies? i don't want to give her a complex.

p.s. don't even get me started on poop (i can't catch her doing one - she just says no whenever i see her making her poopface and ask her...sigh and then she does it minutes later in her training pants/pull ups)
