My DD is 20 months old, and she's been watching us on the loo for ages. Knows when she's peeing or pooing (although calls everything, including farts, poo), and so when she said 'poo' a couple of weeks ago, I asked her if she wanted to go on the loo - she nodded - on she went did a poo. Cue lots of excitement from mummy.
But, having done that for a couple of weeks (I put her on after her bath, or if she tells me she wants a poo), she now tells me she wants a poo at bedtime (after story and when she's in her jamas), so we do the loo, but she doesn't go. I give her loads of time on the loo. Then as soon as I put her down to bed she does a poo in her nappy and gets really upset. So I change her with lots of 'it's fine, you can poo in your nappy, that's fine' but am so worried am giving her really mixed signals. I'm also wondering if it's a delaying-bed tactic (but, to be fair, I don't think she's that bright to realise that).
So - question is, what would you do?
