Do I put dd in nappies for her daytime nap while potty training?

Just started again today after trying a few months ago. All was going well last time til I put her down for her lunchtime nap and she woke up screaming 5 mins later having done a wee. She was so upset she refused to wear pants again til today. So did you put your lo in nappies for naps to start with or just go cold turkey?! And if so, did it work?! TIA.

Oh, and she's 2.9!

we went cold turkey but she'd been waking up dry for a while

on the odd occasion where DS has fallen asleep through the day (he's over 3) we've put a towel and one of those pampers / huggies disposable changing mats under him.

That was quick! Thanks MrsBadger! She's just gone down for a nap in a pull up and I've said it comes off as soon as she wakes up, but suspect this may make life more complicated in the long run! She's so excited to be in her big girl pants that she's wearing them over her pullup! Smile

Ah, good plan, stealthpolarbear - should have thought of that! Good tip!

I do the same as stealth suggested and I sometimes take off bottom half of clothes (i.e pants, skirt/trousers) but that's really just to save on the washing Wink

Same here, started today and she (2.2 yrs) has gone for a nap in a nappy. I thought it was too much to ask on day one.

DD is 2.5 and potty trained about 2 months ago. We did try no nappy at all in the day incl naps at first but she woke up a couple of times having wet herself and was quite upset so we put her in a pull up for naps. After a bit we noticed she was waking up dry so we then quietly ditched the pull up. Didn't cause us any problems.

I have just potty trained my DS 2.6. We didn't bother with anything when he went down for his nap as he generally wasn't wet when he got up from his nap when he wore his nappy.
We've been doing it for about a week and we've only had 1 accident in the last 4 days.
I'd go with pull ups if she gets upset and then just go to a mat under her sheet.
