Anyone else with a 19 month old ready for PT?

I'm thinknig about goiving it a go with dd (19 months)

Today, she came and said 'poops' , whilst pointing at her nappy and 2 minutes later did a poo.

In the bath, she did a wee standing up and it was obvious that she weed deliberately .

But is it worth it? I know that the window between needing to go and getting to the potty is very tiny a this age so I might wait another few months.

DS was an early bird and was trained at 22 months but we were always stopping for him to do a wee in the drain whilst out and about-much easier for a boy than for a girl IYSWIM.

Anyone else out there with a young toddler of similar age and inclination?

You could start gradually with a potty lying around and using it whenever possible, use pull ups when you go out & lots of toilet visits. My dd2 trained early cos she saw dd1 do
It so your dd may be the same. 19 m isn't massively early , most children used to be trained towards 2ish & especially if she is interested

My DD is 20m and we've just started. This was because after a few days of having nappies off around the house, I noticed she was very good at toddling to the potty and doing a wee. Poos haven't been quite as consistent just yet but we're only on day 3 of pants. However, with a little reminding through the day, we haven't had any wee accidents for 2 days and only 2 small poo accidents. I think it's an ok age if they're up for it, although I'm getting lots of anti pressure which makes it hard.

Today dd started saying she was about to do a poo, so got the potty out and said 'this is where big girls go' etc, she knows what potties are for and she just ran off, came back a few times for a look and ran off again.

She seemed to be holding on so I put the nappie back on her. After she'd gone we flushed the poo down the toilet together, which she seemed to find very interesting!

I've just ordered one of those toilet seats and a step off Amazon as she doesn't seem to like sitting on the potty. If that doesn't work it'll be choccie button reward time!

DD PT at 19mo (dry during day, poo took longer) in 2 weeks (well, main bit in 1 week) though i did full time Pavlovian training..chocolate buttons worked atreat with her.

currentlyDS at 19 mo - started really well, though still needs work after a week (he will do a little wee, not enough for me to put pants on him and venture to the shops in confidence). don't think he'll be as reliable as DD was. but also he's an easier going kid and easier to train.

people used to generally PT at 18mo - it may not be the in thing but in the huge majority of cases certainly possible.

My dd just turned 2 but I'd started training around same time as you. We then regressed quite a bit when we went on holidays and grandparents didn't quite trust her and its now much harder. So I do believe that there's a window which I'd taken advantage of but then regressed (I'd sleep due to jet lag and kids and dad would be with grandparents, so I didn;t have much control).

Basically have lots of potties all around the house (ok, maybe not lots), keep offering her the potty every so often eg hourly, before a nap, bath, meal, going out etc. Bring a change of clothes out incl potty and show her where the potty is and ask her to tell you when she needs a wee. A few wet trousers and she'll get it. This has worked great for me but I haven't had the strength to try nap time and night yet. When its cold, she's normally still nappyless but has babylegs on (leg warmers), otherwise my girl loves going au naturel all the time!
